Packer is back — and they’re packing a societal punch. Their next-up ZX collab with the Three Stripes serves as a warning should we continue to neglect our environment. the Packer x adidas Consortium ZX 9000 “Mega Violet” highlights what could easily become reality. Being locked in bags marked “BIOHAZARD,” the pair evokes the visions of commercial pollution (and their lack of environmental responsibility) through a pallet of steel greys and radioactive purples. Textured pigskin and distressed suede overlays add even more weight to the mood, as the chemical warehouse-like campaign shots below aim to capture. All of this is capped off with black accents on the tongues, underlays, midsoels, and laces, acting as the cover of deep night, providing security for activities like illegal dumping. There are a plethora of other more subtle embellishments, but none more striking than the special graphic insoles, which depict a fictional wasteland, complete with a living, breathing venom-biting plant.
