Following on from the recently-released Wood Wood collaboration, Contemporary British menswear brand Universal Works has linked up with adidas for a winter running collection for the tail-end of 2019, and it brings with it similar hints of earthy hues. But it’s not only colors that the two capsules share in common with the two brands forming half of the four-part adidas Running “Run City” pack, which will be releasing over Fall/Winter 2019.

Focus on two renditions of the ultra BOOST 19, the Universal Works x adidas collection also presents an accompanying craigslist collection that’s reflective of the footwear centerpieces. Universal Works co-founder David Keyte drew inspiration from running through London’s cold, wet winter streets for the offering; this arduous undertaking demands hardy, high-quality garments. However, Keyte — in true London form — believes that you don’t need to sacrifice woven standards to fulfill this goal, stating, “I want to run in items that are still going to look good when you stop at the coffee shop afterward.” Therefore, the collection is dressed in rich royal blue and elegant tan tones and features materials you wouldn’t normally expect to see on technical running craigslist, like cozy wools and suedes.
