How Instagram Fashion and Pop-Culture Curator Lil Jupiterr Landed His Own Sneaker

Instagram icon and designer Lil Jupiterr has taken the non-traditional route into the fashion world, rising to popularity through his Instagram mood board, pulling some big-name followers along the way. The New York native, who quit school to focus on his Instagram full-time, says that he initially wanted to leverage the platform to boast his designs. And while he has done so to very welcome receptions, his 300k following including the likes of Sean Wotherspoon, Ronnie Fieg and Virgil Abloh, has gotten around the young designer’s expansive pop culture inspiration.

Jupiterr on the meeting:

“This partnership came about after a meeting last June when I went to the K-Swiss office in Los Angeles. After we met I think we both knew it would make sense for both sides.”

The shoe itself is a tweaked version of the K-Swiss CR-329, but Jupiterr’s version features a White mesh upper paired with a chunky athletic sole unit, loaded with the brand’s Shock Spring technology. Leather overlays are seen on the mudguard and heel, with Jupiterr branding scribed on the medial side and insoles.
