    Sit Down, Draymond.

Draymond Green is probably one of the best trash-talkers in the league right now, but he hasn’t always been. While Dray was still learning the ropes in the NBA in his early years, he picked a battle he simply couldn’t match.

Draymond remembers; “I tried talking junk to Kobe, maybe my second year. On a potential game winner, Mark Jackson put me in to guard him, and I got the stop. I said, ‘Yeah, I’m locking that s— up!’ He looked at me like I was crazy and said, ‘That miss ain’t got nothing to do with you. Sit down.’ I said, ‘Oh, s—! All right, I’m out.'”

In all likelihood, Kobe probably didn’t even notice Draymond’s presence, as he would have taken the shot with one or all five guys contesting, and, 7 times out of 10 he’d hit it, regardless of the coverage. And deep down, Green knew it — Kobe was spot on.

We just wish we’d seen Dray’s face afterwards.

But it seems like Dray isn’t one to back down. The attempt at dissing Kobe was jus ta year after Green tried to talk down Spurs big man, Tim Duncan.

Green said in a wide-ranging interview with Sam Alipour of ESPN The Magazine that he would never again waste his breath on Timmy D, after an encounter in his rookie season.

Green recalls; “As a rookie, I tried talking junk to Tim, and he was like a tree staring back at me. No expression. I said, ‘All right. It’s over.’ Never talked junk to him again. After that, anytime he fell, I’d be the first person to help him up, like I was his teammate.

Like a fine wine, Green’s trash talking has matured into the best in the league. And while the season may already be a foregone conclusion, the only thing we’re hoping for from season 2018/19 is more mic’d up games featuring Green on the airways.
