Though it rocks a pure monochrome palette, the pair makes up for what it lacks in color through intriguing use of texture, shade, and blocking. Utilizing two styles of suede, textile weaves, and bold black piping across its upper, the pair manages to create distinct sections, despite each panel differing only slightly in shade. While the dq4914’s black lines play a big part in this, it’s the difference in texture that makes such a subtle statement. Uppers in a fine, light grey suede are juxtaposed against an ultra-shaggy finish to the overlays in few shades darker. The dividing blacks houses a sleek, white-grey nylon for contrast — a finish that is also applied to the pair’s collar. Underfoot you’ll find a two-tone grey sole unit popped with black branding and herringbone tread, and the pair is capped of with tongue and heel embroidery in black.
