toward the back-end of Michael Jordan’s professional career, his Nike-backed footwear company looked to expand its offerings to those more suited off the court. Keeping their on-court DNA, the brand has worked through a sizable range of retro-inspired offerings, from the Trunner to the Point Lane. And with the popularity of the latter, joining new models like the MA2 and NFH in utilizing Air Max technology for optimal comfort, sneakerheads have found a few winners in the modern market. The latter is arguably the less-loved of the lot, as it burrows its head more towards the brand’s modern Flight Utility aesthetic, but even still, it has enjoyed a great run in its infant years. Now there’s a new colorway on the way.
A bevy of white synthetic panels works atop a tonal mesh base, with React-loaded sole units, rear clips, tongues, and liners following suit. The colorway’s championing feature is the quarter’s teal gradient finish, with its color bleeding into the rear pulls, insoles and Air supports. It’s then struck with vibrant oranges at the tongue and vamp, before a few flashes of aqua blue hit the insole and outsole to complete the design.
