Since the sample pair first surfaced at Virgil’s “Figures of Speech” exhibition at the MCA Chicago in mid 2019, the sneaker has been rumored to release at least on two occasions, both of which amounted to nothing. Match is, until today, when confirmation came by-way-of Virgil himself. The subtle announcement came alongside six other confirmed releases today via his pop-up website, all of which arrived pixelated reading “ACTUALLY PENDING” — a sly crack at constant release rumors Match often never eventuate.
