Futura and Nike SB are back. The legendary graffiti artist from New York is teaming up with Nike’s skateboarding division for the first time in years, to release a new colorway of the SB Dunk Low, coming in 2024.
Futura has been an essential part of the history of sneaker culture since the Nike SB dunk era of the early 2000s. One of the first artist collaborators on the legendary sneakers, his work has been translated into a number of air releases over the years, with a brand new entry now rumored to release in 2024. Once again featuring the SB Dunk Low, the new style bears some resemblance to his 2003 pair from the Silver Box era. Seen only in a teaser photo so far, the pair features a light grey mesh base layer, with blue canvas overlays printed with his signature artwork. Futura’s signature is added to the outer heels of the shoe’s with the Futura Laboratories logo on the interior sides. The laces are split between blue and black, with an extra pink pair for some added color, while an icy blue outsole completes the look.
FUTURA X NIKE SB DUNK LOW 2024 RELEASE INFORMATION
The new release from Futura and the Nike SB team has not been announced yet, though the collaboration is expected to release sometime in May 2024. Featuring his signature art style on the shoe’s outer layers, pairs will likely be extremely limited, releasing from Nike and select skate shops around the world. UPDATE 4/12/24: Nike SB and Futura have a second pair of their Dunk Low in the works, though this “University Gold” style is expected to be a Friends & Family exclusive release, possibly limited to just 250 pairs.
